Kinney L. Johnson
Mr. Johnson is a Founding Partner of Sequel Venture Partners, a Boulder, Colorado based venture firm specializing in start-up technology companies in the IT, Telecom and Healthcare sectors. Sequel has invested in 35 start-ups and expects to place another $100 million of investments in the next year.
Prior to working with Sequel, Mr. Johnson was a Founding Partner of Capital Health Venture Partners, where he was involved in approximately 25 early stage, life science/healthcare start-ups through the American Healthcare Funds I & II.
Prior to entering the venture capital industry in 1985, Mr. Johnson and two partners founded Fischer Imaging Corporation in 1973. This venture grew from $1 million in revenue and 10 employees to become a highly profitable public company in the diagnostics imaging industry, with revenue of $75 million and over 560 employees.
Mr. Johnson currently serves on the boards of MSHOW.com, Inc., MedLink International, Inc., Finali.com, Inc., GenoPlex, HomeBuilding, Inc., WebFamilies.com, IQNavigator, and In-X Corporation. He has previously served on the public boards of Somatogen, Inc., The Spectranetics Corporation, Fischer Imaging Corporation and Access Health Systems.
He received his MS in mathematical computer science from the University of Iowa in 1969 and his BA in mathematics and business administration from Augsburg College in 1965.
